Edited by: Highwind Cid on 07/10/2008 15:49:56 That 0.0 is and will forever be where it currently is forever(seemingly). By this I mean eve is at a standstill with the occasional massive capital battle. It's not like any of the major alliances are going anywhere. 0.0 Is empty and imo boring. I remember catching up to a our fleet roaming in 0.0, I must have done about 10~15 jumps without a single ship, not even a neutral ffs. Not only that once in the ops after about 3+ hours we got 1 ship down.
I pictured eve being in a constant state of struggle for space, constant battles. Instead the big ballers hang out in their 'cribs' and pounce on each other every now and then. Everyone else hangs out in highsec doing who knows what. This is why I liked FW, it was fun, there always seemed to be something going on. I have a bad feeling if and once I do get my own plot of 0.0 it will be less than expected. Isn't that the endgame?

aLl MMOs have a grind, where it be leveling or money, in some its both
Whether or not the MMO makes its feel like a grind is whats separates the good from the bad.

Faction Warfare plexing.
All those wasted hours to see a little "CALDARI" instead of "GALLENTE" near the system name.I don't see the point other than bragging rights (Which dont amount to much mind you.)
So what do you do in eve that has a point? I think everything in eve is just for S&G if ya think about it.

I'm affraid that the worst of all is the general boredom
Space in EVE is boring. PvE in EVE is VERY boring. PvP is not that exciting as in other games. The thrills you get are because of "OMG, if I loose this fight I will have to do a lot of the BORING stuff again to get the ship back" Community (in-game and on the forums) is bored and hunt newbies/weaker ones to grief on them for any fun.
EVE has A LOT of potential, titanic work of DEVs is already done, titanic work awaits the newbie to understand many mechanics, but when a newbie becomes casual or "pr0" - something doesn't "click" in the right way and the game becomes boring anyway.
After talking to many people I found that the most common feeling about EVE is "This game is like your second job. Sometimes you like it, sometimes you hate it, but usualy you're working hard doig some boring stuff and await the time you can finaly press the QUIT buttom" Well... except that in the second job you would get paid, here it's you who have to pay
Important EDIT: But the EVE On-line has the best fan-movies of all the MMO games. No other community makes such excelent vidoes that can be watched more than once with a pleasure. Too bad that most of those movies have so little in common with the actual gameplay
This is the winner so far.

factional warfare is an awsome addition to the game and i wish 0.0 was more like fw.
This is why the idea I brought up awhile ago should be at least tried. That idea being targetting limitation. Currently ships can only target so many ships at one time. Now integrate a way so that a ship can only be targetted by x amount of ships. This will end the focus fire beam turning the game into a more 'good choices' wins the day type of game. Not numbers.
